North Battleford Immigrant Oral History Project

The North Battleford Immigrant Oral History Project documents the lives, journeys, and contributions of immigrants living in North Battleford and the surrounding region.
Through in-depth oral history interviews, the project explores what migration looks like beyond Canada’s largest urban centres.

In May 2026, Qissa recorded 10 oral history interviews with immigrants from different parts of the world who are now settled in the Battlefords. Each interview followed a life-history approach — childhood, family, education, migration, work, belonging, and community.

The project will result in a short documentary-style video essay and social media storytelling.

The North Battleford Immigrant Oral History Project is generously supported by Rob and & Nora Rongve Family Fund.
